TeddyBearPicnic

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (State Parks) has announced that The Friends of Letchworth State Park are hosting their second annual Teddy Bear Picnic Saturday, July 16, 2016.

Children are encouraged to bring their favorite stuffed animal to the Park’s Trailside Lodge from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm to join in on this fun-filled, Friends sponsored event to be held rain or shine. Admission to the event is free with the standard $10 park vehicle charge.

Crystal from Just Clowning Around and Mr. Scribbles are joining the festivities this year in addition to the crafts, games, face-painting, and bear awareness information from last year. Another new activity this year is the Teddy Bear Hike; a guided woods walk with a story theme. Each family is invited to bring their own picnic lunch while dessert will be provided by the Friends of Letchworth.

“This event was so popular last year that we just wanted to make it bigger and better this year,” stated Friends of Letchworth State Park President, Carol Rathbun. “I hope that everyone who enjoyed this event last year has told their friends. We want to continue and grow this program for the pleasure of our youngest Park visitors and their families.”
